‘Only the Dead Have Seen the End of Rivers’ examines the economics, politics, and poetics of the loss of rivers and subsequently the sociopolitical processes through which one can restore/re-imagine them. The work was included in the exhibition ‘Here to Disppear’ whereElham Rahmati, Danai Anagnostou, and Heidi Paju reflect on the results of rapid change and communicative distortions. Works are driven by the wish to examine different processes of apprehension and interpretation by human and non-human beings, also exploring how to visually represent translation and codification programs and the contemporary urge to disappear, hide or remain unseen.
